Internal Smart India Hackathon 2026

College-level selection event for students preparing for Smart India Hackathon 2026.

Internal Hackathon Details

  • Date:16 September 2026
  • Venue:Reading Room
  • Participants:Student teams preparing for SIH 2026
  • Registration:Online registration is mandatory
  • Objective:Internal evaluation and selection of promising teams for the next stage
Students are advised to come prepared with their selected problem statement, proposed solution, innovation points, prototype/demo where available, technical architecture, feasibility and expected impact.

Team Formation Rules

Based on the SIH College SPOC team-formation guidelines published by the official Smart India Hackathon portal.

Team Size

Each SIH team consists of 6 students, including the team leader.

Female Team Member

At least one female student must be part of every team.

Same College

All team members must belong to the same college/institute. Inter-college teams are not permitted.

Team Leader

Every team must identify one member as the team leader.

Cross-Branch Collaboration

Students from different branches of the same college are encouraged to collaborate.

Software Skills

Software teams should have adequate programming and development capability to build the proposed solution.

Multidisciplinary Teams

For hardware-oriented solutions, a suitable mix of engineering, design and programming skills is encouraged.

Unique Team Name

Use a distinctive team name and avoid including the institute name in the team name.

Note: The college may issue additional internal instructions for registration, presentation, judging, deadlines and team selection. Students should follow the latest college instructions.
