The Department of General Science and Engineering serves as the corner stone of the first-year undergraduate engineering program, offering fundamental subjects such as Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Communication Skills, and core Engineering disciplines. These subjects are an integral part of the curriculum, ensuring a strong academic foundation for aspiring engineers. Since its inception in 2010-11, the department has been committed to excellence in education, fostering analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and technical proficiency. With a dedicated faculties and a student-centric approach, we aim to equip future engineers with the knowledge and skills necessary to excel in their respective fields. VISION To educate students in fundamental engineering and prepare them for self- transformation towards innovative and competent engineering. With a high-caliber faculty and excellent infrastructure, we promote academic excellence, absolute discipline and sound practical exposure.

Teacher-Guardian Scheme

  • Scheduled on alternate Wednesday.
  • Points for discussion given by TG coordinator.
  • Students can share their problems with their respective TG.
  • Problems are solved at departmental level.
  • Regular phone calls are made to absent students and a record is maintained for each call.
  • Students must obtain TG permission and a gate pass to leave campus during working hours.

Professional Counseling Sessions

  • Development of healthy coping strategies.
  • Improved self-awareness and emotional resilience.
  • Enhanced mental well-being.
  • Creation of a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Empowerment to achieve academic and personal goals.
  • Counseling sessions are held on second and fourth Wednesday of each month.
  • Guidance is offered on time and stress management, along with other student issues.
  • All sessions are strictly confidential.

Engineering Graduate will be able to:

  1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
