About SWAYAM

SWAYAM is a Government of India program designed to achieve the principles of access, equity, and quality in education, bridging the digital divide for students. It hosts free online courses from Class 9 to post-graduation, accessible to anyone, anywhere, anytime. All courses are interactive, created by over 1,000 top faculty, and available free of cost. The learning experience is structured in four quadrants: 1) Video lectures, 2) Downloadable reading material, 3) Self-assessment tests and quizzes, and 4) Online discussion forums. To ensure quality, ten National Coordinators (AICTE, NPTEL, UGC,CEC, NCERT, NIOS, IGNOU, IIMB, NITTR, INI) manage the content. While learning is free, obtaining an official SWAYAM certificate requires learners to register and pay a fee for a final, proctored, in-person exam. Universities and colleges can use these certificates and marks for credit transfer.
